Job summary

PACE Southeast Michigan is seeking a Life Enrichment Assistant to work with the Life Enrichment Therapist and engage participants in meaningful day center activities such as arts, crafts, exercise, music and outings.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least one year in social or recreational programming in a healthcare setting for the elderly; strong communication; and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year in a social/recreational program, full-time in healthcare settings for the elderly.
• Certification in Activity Assistance (NCCAP/NAPPCC) is a plus.
• Strong written, verbal, and non-verbal communication.
• Computer and technology proficiency.
• Outgoing, energetic, able to engage participants.
• Education on Alzheimer’s/Dementia is a plus.
• Event-planning experience is a plus.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate group and individualized programming.
• Escort participants to activities and community outings.
• Develop monthly activities calendar and events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
