Job summary

Cotter House Worthington is seeking compassionate team members to support residents with dementia in a safe, respectful setting. You will contribute to daily joy, assist with life enrichment activities, and help residents during meals while maintaining effective communication in an interdisciplinary team.

The role emphasizes safety, physical readiness, and a customer-service mindset to promote a healthy, engaging environment for seniors living with dementia.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate and function in an interdisciplinary team.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Experience with seniors who have dementia is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create moments of joy for residents daily and help ensure quality of care throughout the community.
• Aid and assist in life enrichment programming including events outside of the community.
• Assist residents with mealtimes.
• Maintain a safe, clean and respectful living environment.
• Be able to assist in the evacuation of residents in emergencies.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Creating moments of joy for our residents daily and helping to ensure quality of care throughout the community.

• Assuring quality control within the community and providing moments of joy throughout the day.
• Aid and assist in life enrichment programming including events outside of the community.
• Assisting to create and implement life enrichment programming.
• Assist residents with mealtimes.

Essential Functions

• Must be able to communicate and function in an interdisciplinary team.
• Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, and move frequently during working hours. Must be able to lift 40 lbs. flor to waist, lift 10 lbs. waist to shoulder, life and carry 40 lbs. and push/pull 40 lbs.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents.

Educational Requirements

• High School Diploma is preferred

Work Experience

• Experience with seniors who have dementia is preferred
• Experience in life enrichment or activities is preferred
