Qualifications

• Working toward a college degree in math or actuarial science.
• SOA exam completion preferred but not required; transcripts required at offer.
• Experience with spreadsheets to solve actuarial problems.
• Experience with coding languages and/or data analytics tools preferred.
• Be able to analyze and resolve difficult problems using a mathematical approach.
• Be able to communicate complex analytical problems and solutions.
• Be able to work full-time on-site 38.75 hours per week in West Des Moines during Summer 2027.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to actuarial staff and assist in basic actuarial functions.
• Develop working knowledge of life and annuity products and insurance concepts.
• Gain experience with actuarial software and data analytics.
• Engage in rate development and product implementation.
• Participate in model development and valuation processes.
