Job summary

Pathway Law Firm, PC is seeking a highly organized Liens Assistant to support the personal injury case team with identifying, tracking, documenting, and resolving client liens. You will obtain lien information, communicate with insurance companies, medical providers, lienholders, and government agencies, and maintain accurate case records.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year of related experience and strong attention to detail, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of administrative, legal, insurance, or related office experience preferred.
• Personal injury law firm experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with medical providers, insurance companies, or lienholders is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify and document liens for personal injury cases.
• Review files and settlements for lien potential.
• Request lien information, payoff statements, bills, and payment histories from lienholders.
• Contact medical providers, insurers, health plans, and lienholders by phone, email, or mail.
• Track outstanding lien requests and follow up regularly.
• Maintain accurate lien data in the case management system.
• Upload and organize lien documents and correspondence.
• Record calls, emails, and case activity.
• Assist with obtaining final lien amounts and lien releases.
• Assist with lien reductions when directed.
• Communicate status to case managers, attorneys, and settlement staff.
• Support Medicare/Medi-Cal/health insurance lien requests as assigned.
• Identify missing information and escalate to supervisor.
• Ensure liens are documented before settlement funds are distributed.
