Job summary

A1 Works in Progress Associates, LLC is seeking a Junior Inspector to support the design-build LIDS project across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, and Queens. The role requires night and weekend availability, and involves coordinating contractor and MTA activities.

The candidate should hold a Baccalaureate Degree in an engineering/related field, 3 years’ inspector experience, and certifications (OSHA 30, MTA Track Training Card, PMG123). Proficiency with MS Office and related software is expected.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in engineering/architecture and/or construction related field from an accredited college or university.
• 3 years of full-time experience as an inspector in the construction industry.
• Background in Electrical Engineering is required.
• MTA Track Training Card and PMG123 are required.
• OSHA 30 certification is required.
• Must be available to work occasional nights and weekends as needed.
• A driver's license valid in New York State.
• Demonstrated proficiency with MS Windows; MS Office (Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily inspections to verify that the work is being completed in accordance with the requirements of the Construction Contract Documents.
• Prepare Daily Inspection Reports showing the Contractor’s labor force, location of construction activities, equipment used, and the actual work performed; reject non-conforming work and notify managers.
• Work across days, nights, and weekends to meet aggressive project schedules.
• Coordinate Contractor forces with MTA Agency forces, flagging support, access, and testing activities.
• Document issues and resolutions and provide copies to project management for action.
• Provide oversight during acceptance testing and support final project acceptance.
