Job summary

Fugro is seeking a LiDAR Analyst in Lafayette, LA to support LiDAR data processing and vector data editing, with emphasis on hydrographic features. You will review classifications, refine data, and create accurate terrain and watershed datasets using ArcGIS Pro and TerraSolid.

Qualifications

• Experience with LiDAR data processing and GIS data editing to support high-quality mapping deliverables.
• Foundational understanding of LiDAR point cloud data structure (LAS) and elevation models.
• Familiarity with industry classification standards (ASPRS classes).

Responsibilities

• Review automatically classified LiDAR data and reclassify points as needed.
• Identify and correct misclassifications using LiDAR processing software.
• Create/edit vector GIS layers, focusing on hydrographic features like rivers, lakes, and watershed boundaries.
• Digitize, edit, and QC features in ArcGIS Pro; verify topology and data integrity.
• Carry out QA/QC checks on LiDAR and vector data and log changes.
