Job summary

Fugro's aerial mapping services transform LiDAR, imagery, and geospatial data into accurate mapping products and actionable insights.

The Lidar Analyst will support LiDAR data processing and vector data editing to ensure high-quality deliverables. You will refine LiDAR classifications and edit hydrographic features to meet project specifications, with a strong focus on data integrity and GIS workflows.

Qualifications

Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, GIS, Geography, Remote Sensing, or a related field.
Relevant coursework or project experience in LiDAR data processing or GIS data editing is highly desirable.
Foundational understanding of LiDAR technology, LAS format, and elevation models, with familiarity of ASPRS classes.
1+ year of hands-on experience with LiDAR processing software such as TerraSolid.
TerraScan/TerraModeler on MicroStation, LP360, or Global Mapper is required.
Demonstrated ability to use Esri ArcGIS Pro for vector editing and analysis.

Responsibilities

Lead by example, upholding Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and Environment values.
Review and reclassify LiDAR points using processing software.
Ensure LiDAR point cloud and vector data meet project specifications for terrain models and analyses.
Create and maintain vector GIS layers, emphasizing hydrographic features, using ArcGIS Pro.
Draw and integrate hydrographic breaklines and watershed polygons with elevation data for accurate topographic maps and flood models.
Carry out QA/QC checks on LiDAR and vector data and resolve issues with senior team members.
Follow established workflows and maintain logs of changes to datasets.
