This position will provide supervision to the licensing review staff within the Licensing Program for the Office of Cannabis Management (OCM). This section is responsible for reviewing, approving and administering the agencies licenses for cannabis retailers and growers.
The position actively manages the workflow, assigns the work to staff, participates and implements quality initiatives to assure effective and efficient processes based on regulatory standards. This position plans, organizes, directs and implements policies, procedures and activities with the OCM Licensing Section so that licensing activities are conducted in compliance with Minnesota Statutes and other applicable rules and laws.
The position conducts daily review of section staff performance through utilization of regulator performance reporting and is responsible for identifying organizational needs and recommending solutions and improvements as needed.
This position is expected to report to the office at least three days per week with the ability to telework up to two days per week.

The OCM will serve as the primary regulatory agency for the state's hew and expanding cannabis industry, (including the new adult-use market, the Medical Cannabis Program, and existing lower-potency hemp edibles), issue business licenses, provide education and technical support to the new businesses, administer grants to support community reinvestment, and oversee all aspects of Minnesota's cannabis industry.
