Job summary

Hot Topic, Inc. is seeking a Licensing Assistant Manager to support its in-house licensed business. The role acts as a liaison between internal teams and external licensing partners, overseeing 4–5 major partners and up to 30 smaller partners to drive the fandom into products.

The position offers a hybrid schedule, with work from the HQ in City of Industry, CA three days per week, and requires strong licensing knowledge, project management, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 3 years of relevant licensing experience.
  • Strong attention to detail with organizational and project management skills.
  • Creative, analytical, and strategic thinker.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work proactively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as main Business Development liaison with licensors and internal teams.
  • Drive growth by managing partners to meet revenue targets.
  • Negotiate contracts and programs with external partners.
  • Oversee licensing partner relationships and product launches.
  • Define and execute business strategy with licensors and resolve issues.
  • Oversee the licensing product approval process for designated properties.
  • Lead sales forecasts and ensure compliance with contracts.
  • Supervise and delegate work of direct report.
  • Research market trends and opportunities for new programs.
  • Pitch new companies for consumer product programs.
  • Provide business insights through analytics and presentations.
  • May travel to meetings as needed.
