Protingent is seeking a Licensing Engineer, Fuel to manage licenses, permits, and regulatory filings for fuel operations. You will monitor federal, state, and local regulations, coordinate with internal teams, and maintain records to ensure compliance with evolving requirements.

The role involves interaction with regulatory agencies, audits, and cross-functional collaboration to implement robust controls and improve licensing workflows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 0–5 years in licensing, regulatory affairs, compliance, permitting, or related operational function.
  • Knowledge of regulatory processes, documentation, and recordkeeping best practices.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, consistency, and follow-through.
  • Ability to analyze requirements, interpret guidance, and apply procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar tools, and comfort with document tracking systems/DVDs.

  • Serve as point of contact for regulatory agencies and licensing authorities.
  • Maintain calendars, deadlines, and status updates for licensing activities.
  • Review processes and documentation to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Support development and implementation of licensing policies and controls.
  • Respond to inquiries from regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate with legal, operations, finance, safety, and others to resolve licensing issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy in compliance workflows.

Position Title

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with responding to inquiries, notices, and requests for information from regulatory bodies.
  • Partner with legal, operations, finance, safety, and other teams to resolve licensing and regulatory issues.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, standardization, and accuracy in compliance workflows.
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, compliance, legal studies, public administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Job Qualifications
  • Experience supporting licensing or compliance activities in the fuel, energy, transportation, logistics, or highly regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with permit management, audit support, and regulatory reporting.
  • Experience building or improving compliance processes and internal controls.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a preferred.
