Job summary

X Energy, LLC is seeking a Licensing Engineer to join its reactor licensing team in Gaithersburg, MD. The role supports licensing activities and interfaces with the U.S.

NRC, coordinating with licensing, engineering, program management, supply chain, and procurement to advance regulatory content. You will aid in environmental licensing, nuclear safety, security, and regulatory compliance for advanced reactor technology, contributing to first-of-a-kind licensing practices and ensuring milestones

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (e.g., mechanical, nuclear, chemical, or electrical) or science (e.g., environmental science, physics, chemistry) or related area.
• Experience in direct NRC interactions (written and/or verbal).
• Understanding of the nuclear regulatory processes in the United States.
• Experience in project management related to developing schedules and coordinating team activities to produce technical content for regulatory purposes.

Responsibilities

• Support portions of licensing activities (certifications, permits, approvals, and licenses) and meet milestones with the NRC.
• Provide licensing support to engineers in developing technical requirements for NRC compliance.
• Develop licensing content to support Safety Analysis Reports and licensing applications.
• Support development of licensing plans and associated budgets.
• Maintain quality and safety culture per the QA program.
