Job summary

The Texas A&M University System Offices, within Texas A&M Innovation, is seeking a Director of Licensing for Physical Sciences and Engineering. This senior leader will drive the commercialization of physical sciences and engineering technologies across the Texas A&M University System, engaging faculty, researchers, campus and external partners to build a high-impact portfolio.

The role emphasizes strategic leadership, team development, data-driven decision making, and collaboration with industry

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physical sciences, or a related field.
Ten years of experience in university technology transfer, corporate licensing, or related commercialization leadership.
Experience leading people and improving organizational processes in a metrics-driven environment.

Responsibilities

Lead strategic commercialization for physical sciences and engineering technologies in line with the office's mission.
Develop and manage a vertically oriented licensing function with strong domain expertise.
Create annual and multi-year portfolio growth and engagement plans across sectors.
Mentor licensing teams and design workflows for disclosure, IP strategy, marketing, negotiation, and portfolio management.
Coordinate with internal partners to move opportunities through the commercialization process.
