Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
• Two years of related experience in technology transfer in academia or industry.
• Strong knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist faculty and researchers with technology disclosure and IP matters.
• Review new disclosures for commercial potential and IP protection opportunities.
• Recommend protection strategies and path to market for technologies.
• Conduct market research, projection, and valuation of technologies.
• Prepare non-confidential summaries for marketing use.
• Contact potential licensees to explain utility and value of innovations.
• Prepare and negotiate confidentiality, MTAs, and other agreements.
• Propose terms for option and license rights with oversight.
• Coordinate with TAMUS Innovation staff to ensure accurate data.
• Collaborate with New Ventures on start-up licensing.
