Job summary

Pathway Caring For Children seeks a Licensing Assessor in Canton, OH to ensure foster/adoptive homes comply with Ohio licensing standards. You will conduct initial and renewal assessments, enter families into Pathway’s systems, and support licensure activities under the Licensing Operations and Support Director.

Responsibilities

  • Complete initial foster/adoptive home studies with home visits and paperwork.
  • Enter prospective families into Pathway databases and SACWIS; keep updated with changes.
  • Handle re-licensing for foster homes and license changes in household composition.
  • Assist Licensing Director in licensure activities and staying compliant with ODJFS rules.
  • Perform Kinship Adoptions assessments and participate in court hearings.
  • Demonstrate trauma competence in all duties pertaining to the position.

# Licensing AssessorCanton, OH 44718## DescriptionThe Licensing Assessor works under the supervision of, and in conjunction with the Licensing Operations and Support Director to ensure that all of Pathway’s foster homes /Adopt homes maintain compliance with Ohio Department of Job and Family Services licensing standards. This person is responsible for the initial licensing and re-licensing of all foster homes, and the approval and re-approval of approved adoptive homes that are assigned to them by the LicensingOperations and Support Director. This also includes the processing of all those changes that occur in those homes (relocations, changes in marital status, etc.) I. Licensing Function: Works under the direction of the Licensing Operation and Support Services Director to accomplish the following as directed and in accordance with ODJFS rules, and Pathway Caring For Children’s policies and procedures. * Completes initial foster/adoptive home study assessments including home visits and processing all paperwork necessary to complete the assessment.* Completes initially entering all prospective families into the Pathway Database and SACWIS systems and keeping these systems updated with any changes.* Completes the re-licensure of foster homes assigned by the Licensing Director.* Completes the licensure processes for Foster Caregivers who move to a new home, have a change in their marital status, or has a change in the household membership.* Assists the Licensing Director in activities necessary to re-license the agency.* Has a clear understanding of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services rules* Conducts, as assigned by the Licensing Director, assessments for Kinship Adoptions, Court Hearings* “Is responsible for Trauma Competence when performing all duties pertaining to this position.”## QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS: The Licensing Assessor shall have:* Bachelor’s Degree with a major in one of the social sciences* At least three years experience working in the social service field* Be an Ohio licensed social worker (prefer – not required)* Be a certified adoption assessor* Have demonstrated the ability to work well with many different types of people;* Have the ability to write quickly, coherently* Possess a valid driver’s license, a good driving record* Automotive liability insurance* A car which is safely maintained* This person must meet the background screening as defined in OAC code 5101:2-5-09.Demonstrates sensitivity and consideration for the cultural differences among the children and families served by Pathway.
