Job summary

Beech Acres is seeking a Licensing Specialist to assess, train, and oversee caregiver homes in a full-time role. You will conduct home studies, support families with ongoing training, and ensure compliance with program policies.

Role requires a Bachelor’s in Social Work or related field, plus an Assessor Certification and at least 1 year of relevant experience. Master’s degree is preferred and a driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Active Assessor Certification required; applicant without certification may qualify if able to attain immediately.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with families and children; foster care experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Excellent communication skills; both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Performs initial home studies, recertification assessments, transfer assessments, updates and amendments as required.
  • Maintains documentation in accordance with all rules and policies.
  • Provides pre-service and ongoing training for families.
  • Provides referral matching support as needed.
  • Ensures initial and ongoing compliance of homes.
  • Manages crises and collaborates with leadership and team as needed.
  • Develops trainings for families based on trends and best practices.
  • Promotes agency values and trauma-informed care.

Salary Range: $41,160.00 to $52,981.00 annually

Full-time exempt - ($41,160 - $52,981 annually) (+ bonus potential)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for assessing, training, and maintaining caregiver homes.

  • Completes initial home studies, recertification assessments, transfer assessments, updates, amendments and other assessments as required.
  • Completes work and documentation in accordance with all rules and policies.
  • Provides pre-service and on-going training for families.
  • Provides referral matching support, as needed.
  • Ensures initial and ongoing compliance of homes.
  • Manages crises as they arise within day to day work, and collaborates with leader and team as needed.
  • Completes research and development of trainings for families based on trends and best practices, as needed.
  • Promotes agency culture that embodies the values of Integrity, Inclusion, Collaboration, Growth and Quality and practice of Natural Strength Parenting/ISMP and Trauma Informed Care.

Performs other duties as assigned, provided such duties are reasonably related to the essential functions of the position and do not conflict with applicable laws or organizational policies.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Active Assessor Certification required.
  • Will consider applicant without assessor certification if eligible to attain and willing to do so immediately.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working with families and children.
  • Previous experience in foster care preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Excellent communication skills; both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
