Job summary

Delacorte Press, an imprint of Random House Books, is seeking an Associate Editor for licensed publishing. The role involves hands-on editorial work, acquisitions, and project management within a fast-paced team.

The position supports a growing licensed program with collaborations across Design, Production, Marketing, Publicity, and Sales, and welcomes remote candidates based in the United States who can align with Eastern Time.

Qualifications

• 3+ years editorial experience in trade publishing.
• Strong editorial judgment with line-level feedback.
• Excellent organizational and project-management skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
• Ability to collaborate with editors, agents, licensors, and partners.

Responsibilities

• Manage licensed publishing projects from manuscript development through publication.
• Identify and acquire select new titles with commercial potential.
• Develop concepts within licensed worlds and identify formats and authors.
• Evaluate proposals and manuscripts and participate in acquisitions discussions.
• Build relationships with authors, agents, licensors, and collaborators across departments.
• Manage licensor submissions, feedback, and approvals with schedules.
