Job summary

SST Direct in Roseland, NJ is seeking a Licensed N-2 Wastewater Operator for a direct hire opportunity. The role offers full benefits including PTO, Medical, Dental and 401k, and salary between $80,000 and $94,000 per year based on experience.

Responsibilities include operating and optimizing treatment systems, monitoring readings, performing sampling, maintaining logs for DMR reporting and NJDEP compliance, and coordinating preventive maintenance on pumps and related equipment.

Qualifications

• New Jersey Wastewater Treatment Operator License – Class N2 is required.
• 3–5 years of industrial/manufacturing experience.
• Minimum 2 years of wastewater treatment experience; food/beverage manufacturing preferred.
• Knowledge of NJDEP regulations and industrial pretreatment requirements.
• Experience repairing/rebuilding pumps and replacing motors, valves, aerators, and filters.
• Ability to run and fit PVC and black piping.
• Strong documentation and recordkeeping skills.
• Microsoft Office experience preferred.

• Monitor daily water, softener, and cooling tower readings.
• Perform routine testing and coordinate required grab and composite sampling.
• Maintain logbooks, records, and data for monthly DMR reporting and NJDEP compliance.
• Adjust chemical feed rates based on wastewater conditions.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on pumps, blowers, valves, sensors, motors, and other equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime.
• Follow OSHA, LOTO, confined space, and all plant safety procedures.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in industrial and wastewater environments and outdoors in varying weather.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs.
