BG Foods in Roseland, NJ is hiring a Licensed Wastewater Operator (N2) to manage the pretreatment system in a food manufacturing setting. You will monitor, test, optimize, and document wastewater processes ensuring regulatory compliance with NJDEP.

The role requires a NJ wastewater operator license (Class N2) and 2+ years in wastewater treatment, with strong recordkeeping and safety practices. Salary reflects a stable, full-time position with overtime eligibility.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in industrial/manufacturing maintenance with wastewater exposure.
• Minimum 2 years of wastewater treatment experience, preferably in food manufacturing.
• Familiarity with NJDEP regulations and pretreatment requirements.
• Strong recordkeeping and documentation skills.
• Direct experience in a food/beverage production environment is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor city water, water softeners, cooling towers daily readings.
• Operate and optimize physical, chemical, and biological treatment processes.
• Conduct routine laboratory analysis (pH, TSS, COD, settleability).
• Manage sample collection for certified lab testing.
• Maintain logbooks and prepare monthly DMRs per NJDEP standards.
• Adjust chemical feed rates to neutralize organic loads and CIP dumps.
• Perform preventative maintenance on pumps, sensors, and valves.
• Follow safety policies, LOTO, confined space entry, and OSHA requirements.
