Job description

The LICENSED VOCATIONAL NURSE is a member of the patient care team responsible for providing direct nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The LICENSED VOCATIONAL NURSE is responsible for following the resident's Plan of Care, providing treatments, and working collaboratively with team members to meet patient needs and ensure positive care outcomes.

1. Administering medications and treatments
2. Implementing and documenting timely interventions appropriate to resident needs, functioning within the California Licensed Vocational Nurse Scope of Practice
3. Obtaining and recording accurate physical assessment data based on diagnosis and care plan
4. Communicating resident status to the Registered Nurse
5. Responding to resident requests and/or call lights with appropriate action
6. Delivering consistent quality patient care, evidenced by residents being clean and comfortable

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

1. Valid CA Vocational Nurse License (LVN)
2. One (1) year of clinical experience as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in an acute and/or subacute hospital environment (PREFERRED) - new graduates encouraged to apply
3. BLS certification required
4. Excellent customer service skills
5. Excellent communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills
6. Basic computer skills; experience with Empower (EHR) and PointClickCare (PCC) preferred
