Job description

The Long Beach VA Health Care System is seeking 4 full-time Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) within the Primary Care Department.

Duties

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing patient care, administering medications, and supporting diagnostic procedures.

Requirements

Applicants pending completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be considered tentatively but cannot be hired until all requirements are met.

Basic Requirements

• United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when qualified citizens are unavailable, in accordance with VA Policy.
• English Language Proficiency
• Licensure: Full, active, unrestricted licensure as an LPN/LVN in the U.S. or its territories or District of Columbia.
• Education: Graduation from an approved practical or vocational nursing program. Exceptions include certain military training or licenses granted without graduation from an approved school.

Grade Determinations

For GS-06 level, at least one year of experience at the GS-05 level or equivalent is required, demonstrating proficiency in patient care, medication administration, emergency response, patient communication, and support for complex procedures.

Preferred Experience

PACT experience is preferred.
