Job summary

AltaMed is seeking a licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for a float LVN position in the Los Angeles area. You will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician, taking vital signs, gathering data, administering medications, and delivering treatments.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited LVN program and California LVN licensure; 1 year of LVN experience and geriatric care background are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited LVN program.
• Current LVN license issued by the State of California (Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians).
• 1 year of LVN experience preferred.
• Experience with geriatric patients preferred.
• BLS or higher certification per AHA/Red Cross guidelines.
• Bilingual Spanish, Mandarin, and Cantonese highly preferred.

Job Overview

The LVN provides direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Physician. The LVN tasks include, but are not limited to, vital signs, data gathering, medication administration, and rendering patient care/treatments.

Minimum Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited LVN school.

• Current LVN license issued by the State of California, Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience as an LVN is preferred.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience working with a frail or elderly population is preferred.

• Experience and knowledge regarding the physical, mental, and social needs of geriatric patients are preferred.

• A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.

• Bilingual Spanish, Mandarin, and Cantonese highly preferred.

LVN FLOAT POSITION:

• Current and valid driver’s license and active insurance verification

Compensation

Pay for this job starts at $31.93 hourly
