Job summary

PIH Health in Los Angeles is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for a full-time night shift in an acute care setting. The LVN provides direct patient care under RN supervision, performs treatments and clerical duties within scope of practice, and supports patient flow and safety.

Required certifications include IV/ Blood Withdrawal within six months, BLS, VIP within 3 months, and LA City Fire card within 6 months.

Provides direct patient care under the direction/supervision of a registered nurse. Provides treatments, procedures and clerical duties as defined and within the legal boundaries of the Licensed Vocational Nurse Scope of Practice and accepts responsibility for individual nursing actions, competence, decisions and behavior in the course of vocational nursing practice.

Required Experience

Required:

• Intravenous and Blood Withdrawal Certification within six months of employmen
• BLS from the American Heart Association
• Non-Violent Crisis Prevention (VIP) within 3 months of employment
• LA City Fire card within 6 months of employment
• Prior experience in an acute care facility or formal classroom education in Medical/Surgical as appropriate for clinical specialty.
