Aurora Charter Oak Hospital is seeking an LVN Intake Coordinator for our Needs Assessment Department in Covina, CA. The role involves collecting patient information for admits, pre-certifications, and mandatory reporting, handling calls for the assessment center, and coordinating with insurers on UR pre-certifications.

Requires current California LVN license, strong communication skills, familiarity with medical/psychological terminology, and knowledge of addiction treatment concepts.

Qualifications

• Current California LVN license and able to provide documentation.
• Excellent telephone and face-to-face customer service skills.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred.
• Knowledge of addiction treatment concepts and 12-step programs.
• Experience with therapeutic limit-setting or understanding behavior management modalities.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and seek supervision when needed.
• Current BLS for healthcare provider required upon hire.
• TOT training to be obtained prior to providing direct patient care without a preceptor.

What You'll Do:

The Intake Coordinator assists in collecting patient information for possible admits, pre-certs, and filing mandatory reporting; take phone calls into the assessment center and routes calls as necessary; UR Pre-certification with insurance companies; Assist with taking physician orders and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Current California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)
• Telephone etiquette and customer service skills by phone and face-to-face
• Oral and written communication skills
• Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology preferred
• Basic knowledge of human behavior or principles of psychology useful
• Understanding of addiction treatment concepts, including 12-step programs and cognitive aspects of addictive diseases
• Experience with therapeutic limit-setting helpful, or an understanding of level systems or other behavior management modalities
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and willingness to seek supervision in this regard
• Current BLS for healthcare provider required upon hire
• Therapeutic Options™ (TOT) training to be obtained prior to providing direct patient care without a preceptor
