Job description

Apollo is recruiting for a Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our Home Healthcare Team. You will be joining a team of compassionate and dedicated healthcare professionals who are committed to providing the highest level of care to our members.

The Licensed Vocational Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Responsibilities include following the plan of care, providing treatments, and working collaboratively with the members of the team to help meet positive patient care outcomes.

Apollo is an Obran Cooperative Company, building the largest worker-owned home-based healthcare company in the US. We know the frustrations that come when working at a traditional healthcare employer - we’ve been there. That is why we created Obran Health. Obran Cooperative businesses give voice, power, and a share of the profits to each of our employee members.

Objectives:
  • Provides direct patient care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
  • Implements plan of care initiated by the registered nurse.
  • Provides accurate and timely documentation consistent with the plan of care.
  • Assesses and provides patient and family/caregiver education and information pertinent to diagnosis and plan of care.
  • Assists the registered nurse or physician in performing specialized procedures and duties, which include preparing equipment and materials for treatments, observing aseptic technique as required, and assisting the patient in learning appropriate self-care techniques.
  • Participates in coordination of home health services, appropriately reporting the identified needs for other disciplines (HHA, OT, PT, MSW, ST, Dietician) to the registered nurse and/or Clinical Supervisor/Nursing Supervisor.
  • Uses equipment and supplies effectively and efficiently.
  • Participates in personal and professional growth and development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the registered nurse.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited practical nurse or vocational nursing program.
  • Currently licensed as a licensed practical nurse or licensed vocational nurse in the state.
  • Complies with accepted professional standards and practice.
  • Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills.
  • Possesses and maintains CPR certification.
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
  • The following qualifications are preferred, but not required:
    • Three (3) years nursing experience, and (1) year prior professional nursing experience in a community/home health or medical/surgical setting.
Full time employees are eligible for:
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Life Insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Flexible schedule
  • Short- and long-term disability

All employees are invited to become members of Obran Cooperative. An ever-growing set of member benefits is offered to all Obran Cooperative members.

Compensation:

Apollo currently pays LVNs $55-65/visit and $30/hour for in-services, trainings, and orientations.

Equal Opportunities and Accommodations:

Obran is deeply committed to creating workplaces and a community of members where equity is prioritized and valued. We strongly encourage applications from people with marginalized identities.

Obran is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities in the employment application process.
