Job summary

Sweetwater Care is seeking an experienced LVN/LPN for a travel nursing role in the United States. The position requires CA licensure (or compact license for compact states) and LTC experience, with proficiency in patient care, charting, and timely medication administration.

Qualifications

• Long-Term Care experience required.
• Familiar with computer charting and typing.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care within scope of practice per standards and physician orders.
• Participates in the Quality Improvement Program.
• Uses Infection Control Manual appropriately.
• Notifies departments of patient changes (room changes, LOA, admissions, discharge).
• Educates patients and families.
• Administers medications in a timely manner per facility policy.
• Administers treatments per policy.
• Receives, transcribes, and carries out physician orders as allowed by Nurse Practice Act.
• May make rounds with physicians when necessary.

Objective

Provides nursing care within scope of practice to ensure patient’s needs are met in accordance with standards of practice, physician orders, center policies and procedures, and state, federal and local guidelines.

Principal Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge and appropriate use of the Company Infection Control Manual.
• Understands, participates and assists in implementing the Quality Improvement Program.
• Utilizes the Quality Life Manual for identification, placement, and monitoring of patients in the appropriate programs.
• Notifies other Departments of patient changes, i.e., room changes, LOA, new admits, discharge, etc.
• Conducts family and patient education.
• Demonstrates the ability to administer medications timely and according to facility policy.
• Demonstrates the ability to administer treatments timely and according to facility policy.
• Demonstrates ability to receive, transcribe, and carry out physician orders, if allowed by Nurse Practice Act.
• Makes rounds with physicians when necessary.

Qualifications

• Currently licensed as LVN/LPN in state California, if contract is in the state of Califonia. Pocess a compact license if working in a Compact state.
• One-year prior nursing experience preferred
• Long Term Care experinece a must
• Candidate will have suffient knowlege with computer charting and be profient with typing.
