Job summary

Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse to participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care under RN direction. The LVN will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes and provide direct, individualized care across a broad range of conditions.

The role requires completing ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale within 90 days, BLS prior to contact, and proficiency with data entry and rehabilitation equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Graduate of Approved LVN Program.
• Minimum Work Experience: No previous experience.
• Required Licenses/Certifications: BLS - should not initiate patient contact until completed.
• ACLS should be completed within 90 days of hire.
• NIH Stroke Scale should be completed within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.

Licensed Vocational Nurses effectively interact with patient and significant others, while maintaining the standard of professional nursing. Licensed Vocational Nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients with a predictable outcome based on the application of scientific nursing principles. Due to the broad range of medical conditions they encounter, they must be well-versed in a large variety of health conditions. Licensed Vocational Nurses have a professional obligation to participate in committee activities, surveys, and improvement initiatives. In addition, Licensed Vocational Nurses must uphold the standards of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, and must practice within their defined scope of practice.
