Job summary

Hendrick Health seeks a Licensed Vocational Nurse to participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and provide direct, individualized care to patients, applying nursing principles across a broad range of health conditions.

The LVN must complete a Vocational Nursing Program or ADN, hold CPR-BCLS, and practice under the Texas Nurse Practice Act as part of their scope of practice.

Qualifications

• Completion of Vocational Nursing Program or Associate’s Degree in Nursing.
• Licensed Vocational Nurse licensure.
• CPR-BCLS certification required.
• Practice within the Texas Nurse Practice Act and defined scope of practice.

Job description

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurses participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care. Licensed Vocational Nurses collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. Licensed Vocational Nurses effectively interact with patient and significant others, while maintaining the standard of professional nursing. Licensed Vocational Nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients with a predictable outcome based on the application of scientific nursing principles. Due to the broad range of medical conditions they encounter, they must be well-versed in a large variety of health conditions.

Licensed Vocational Nurses have a professional obligation to participate in committee activities, surveys, and improvement initiatives. In addition, Licensed Vocational Nurses must uphold the standards of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, and must practice within their defined scope of practice.
