Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing or vocational nursing.
• LVN license in state of employment or compact.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides care under supervision of physician or registered nurses for clinic patients according to established standards and practices.
• Performs basic patient care duties: obtaining vital signs, weighing patients, collecting specimens including phlebotomy (site specific). Assists providers in examination and procedures; supports patient flow through the clinic.
• Answers phone, records messages, and assists providers with patient-related calls.
• Assists in scheduling tests, results, and pre-certification.
• Documents patient information and assists with medication refills.
• Administers medications/immunizations according to provider orders.
• Cleans/restocks exam rooms and maintains sterile technique; orders stock supplies as needed.
• Performs routine clerical duties: locating charts, filing, completing forms.
• Attends training and performs other duties as assigned.
