Job summary

CHRISTUS Health in Texas is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide patient care under physician or RN supervision in a clinic setting. You will obtain vital signs, assist with examinations, perform phlebotomy when required, and support patient flow throughout the day.

Responsibilities include administering medications/immunizations, scheduling tests, documenting patient information, and coordinating with providers on refills and test results.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of practical nursing or vocational nursing.
• LVN license in state of employment or compact.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the physician; performs basic patient care duties including obtaining vital signs, weighing patients, and collecting specimens (including phlebotomy as site requires).
• Assists provider(s) in examination and treatment of patients and with procedures; aids patient flow through the clinic.
• Answers phone, records messages, and assists providers with patient-related calls.
• Assists in scheduling test appointments, results, and pre-certification.
• Documents patient information.
• Assists with medication refills.
• Administers medications/immunizations per provider orders.
• Cleans/restocks exam rooms, cleans equipment per policy, orders stock supplies; maintains sterile technique where required.
• Performs routine clerical duties (chart retrieval, filing, forms).
• Attends meetings and in-service trainings; performs other duties as assigned.
