BHC Alhambra Hospital in Rosemead, California, is seeking a licensed LVN to join our psychiatric nursing team for overnight hours. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you will provide compassionate care to patients across our inpatient and behavioral health services.

Responsibilities include data collection for assessments, recording vital signs, monitoring changes in condition, and communicating with the Charge Nurse.

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited vocational nursing program or psychiatric technician program.
Minimum one year LVN experience in psychiatric nursing preferred; six months in Child and Adolescent Development preferred.
Licensed to practice vocational nursing by State Board of Nursing or Psychiatric Technicians.

Responsibilities

Accurately collect data for the integrated assessment.
Take and record vital signs.
Observe and document changes in patient appearance, behavior and progress toward treatment goals.
Communicate changes in patient condition to the Charge Nurse.
Report signs of infection or worsening status to the Charge Nurse.

We offer inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient options for individuals in the communities of the San Gabriel Valley, Los Angeles County, and surrounding areas.

NOC: 11:00 pm-7:30 am

Job Description: The LVN performs under the direction of a Registered Nurse in providing nursing care to assigned patients, utilizing basic understanding of psychiatric and personality disorders.

Key Responsibilities include:

Accurately collect data needed for the appropriate portion of the integrated assessment.
Take and record vital signs properly.
Observe for, and document changes in patient’s appearance, behavior and ability to work toward treatment plan goals.
Communicate changes in patient’s condition to the Charge Nurse.
Report signs and symptoms of infection in resident to the Charge Nurse

Qualifications

Requirements:

Education: Graduate from an accredited professional vocational school of nursing or vocational training as a psychiatric technician, preferably with education in Child and Adolescent Development.

Experience: Minimum one (1) year LVN in psychiatric nursing preferred, with six (6) months experience in the specialized area of Child and Adolescent Development preferred.

Licensure: Licensed to practice vocational nursing from the State Board of Nursing or Psychiatric Technicians.
