Job summary

The Children’s Clinic is seeking a licensed vocational nurse (LVN) for its outpatient clinics in Anaheim, Walnut, and Long Beach, California. The LVN will support providers, manage patient flow, and contribute to high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

You will document care in the EMR, administer vaccines, handle medication refills, and assist with clinic operations while coordinating with a dedicated team across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program.
• BLS Certification required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily walk-in patient flow and coordinate timely follow-up.
• Process laboratory and imaging orders from specialty offices and PCPs.
• Document patient care accurately in the EMR.
• Process medication refill requests and prior authorizations.
• Provide patient education and support care coordination.
• Administer vaccines following clinical protocols.
• Coordinate Medical Assistant schedules as assigned.
• Monitor incoming mail, faxes, and provider correspondence.
• Prepare forms for provider review and signature.

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides safe, high-quality patient care by assisting providers with clinical treatments, procedures, and administrative duties within the California LVN Scope of Practice. The LVN delivers compassionate care to infants, children, adolescents, and adults while supporting efficient patient flow in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

• Document patient care accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
• Process medication refill requests and prior authorizations
• Provide patient education and support care coordination
• Administer vaccines in accordance with clinical protocols
• Coordinate Medical Assistant schedules as assigned
• Monitor incoming mail, faxes, and provider correspondence
• Prepare forms for provider review and signature

Minimum Qualifications

Required

• High School diploma or GED required
• Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program
• BLS Certification
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office and EMR systems)

Preferred

• At least one year of outpatient clinic experience
• Phlebotomy or Blood Withdrawal Certification
