Job summary

Healthcare Staffing Professionals has an immediate need for a Licensed Vocational Nurse to work in a supported living center located in Carlsbad, TX. The role provides a 40-hour week with a rotating schedule including 4p-12a shifts, and a pay rate of $40.10 per hour.

Primary duties include administering medications, documenting observations, and communicating with the care team. Qualifications require Texas LVN licensure, CPR certification, and basic EHR skills as preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice as LVN in Texas or via reciprocity (NLC).
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and speech.
• Current American Heart Association CPR certification; basic life support awareness.

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and treatments per orders and facility policy.
• Performs nursing procedures after competency validation and documentation.
• Documents observations and communicates with the team.
• Responds to emergencies and adheres to infection control procedures.
• Manages medical records in EHR or paper chart and ensures supplies.

Job description

Healthcare Staffing Professionals has an immediate need for a Licensed Vocational Nurse to work in a supported living center located in Carlsbad, TX.

Pay Rate: $40.10/hr

Location: Carlsbad, TX

Schedule:

• 40-hours/week; No OT
• Rotating Schedule
• Shifts- 4p-12a x 5 days a week with every 3 rd weekend off.

Job Duties:

• Administers medications and treatments orally, rectally, internally, or by injection.
• Performs technical Nursing procedures according to facility and state regulations after demonstration for competency
• Documents and reports pertinent observations.
• Communicates orally and in writing to other team members' pertinent information. Documents according to facility policy.
• Responds to emergency situations to ensure safety of individuals. Follows safety and Infection Control Procedures of facility.
• Monitors individuals for treatments and procedures.
• Collects specimens for laboratory examination and conducts appropriate screening tests (after competency is documented) when requested by lab personnel.
• Provides education to individuals with specific health goals.
• LVN II assists other staff in turning/repositioning individuals to administer treatments.
• Ensures that supplies are available.
• Manages individual's medical record in Electronic Health Record or paper chart.
• Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice as a licensed vocation nurse in the state of Texas (or a state that recognizes reciprocity through the Nurse Licensure Compact).
• Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
• Demonstrated computer & electronic health record skills preferred.
• Must have valid photo ID and current American Heart Association CPR certification
• Basic Life: $25,000 (100% employer paid)
• Basic Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) : $25,000 (100% employer paid)
