Job summary

VCA Katonah Bedford Veterinary Center is growing its Surgery Team and seeks a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our hybrid hospital in Westchester County, NY. You will use your clinical skills in anesthesia, patient assessment, and post-operative care while collaborating with a dedicated team.

This full-time position offers a 4x10 or 3x12 schedule with competitive hourly pay and the chance to advance toward specialty credentials within a strong support network.

Qualifications

• Licensed veterinary technician with NY licensure or eligible for licensure.
• Experience in anesthesia monitoring and post-operative care preferred.
• Strong communication with pet parents and team members required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine veterinary technician duties to support surgery team.
• Collect patient histories and perform physical exams.
• Administer medications and refills; communicate with clients.

This is a great opportunity for a Veterinary Technician who wants a challenge and the opportunity for growth. As an Licensed Veterinary Technician, you will utilize your knowledge and cultivate new skills while collaborating with a team of like-minded professionals.

Potential Schedule

Full time, (4)10 hour shifts, or (3) 12 hour shifts available

Compensation

$29 - $35 / hr based on skill set, 3 – 5 yrs of experience, and licensure status (LVT, VTS)

Surgery Licensed Veterinary Technician Responsibilities

• Full technician skill utilization


• Collecting patient histories & physical exams


• Medication refills, and pet parent communication


• Proficient in medical calculations


• Anesthesia monitoring & post operative care


• Venipuncture / IVC placement


• Hands Free Radiology (Associate safety a top priority)


• Working collaboratively with team members of all hospital services


• Providing compassionate care for all patients
