Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide quality medical care as part of the BoosterPet team.
• Complete physical exams, triage, and vitals for DVMs.
• Maintain accurate medical records in the practice system.
• Educate animal owners and assist with urgent care and telemedicine needs.
• Assist at front desk and greet clients, answer phones, and schedule appointments.
• Perform laboratory work and diagnostic imaging as needed.
• Administer medications, injections, and monitor anesthesia when required.
• Sterilize instruments and ensure a clean, safe environment.

Responsibilities Included But Not Limited To.....

• Play an active role in the BoosterPet medical team to provide quality medical care, model BoosterPet's core values
• Ability to complete physical exams, triage and complete vitals on behalf of our DVMs
• Be tech savvy
• Support BoosterPet urgent care services and telemed wellness as needed
• Complete detailed medical records with through medical history. Ensure medical records are accurate within the practice management system
• Educate animal owners
• Liaising with veterinarians and veterinary assistants to ensure continuity of patient care
• Follow all safety protocols to ensure safety of pets, clients, and team members
• Administering medications and treatments prescribed by a veterinarian
• Obtains and verifies medications
• Performing phlebotomy duties, and providing intramuscular (IM), intravenous (IV) and subcutaneous (SQ) injections
• Restrain pets in a manner that allows necessary work to be performed, minimizes stress to pets, and ensures the safety of pets and people
• Assist at front desk/kiosk and greet clients/patients upon entry
• Answer phones and make appointments as needed
• Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging
• Administering first aid for emergencies
• Knowledge with the RECOVER guidelines
• Induce/monitor and recover anesthetic patients
• Complete regional anesthesia when needed
• Maintains safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment by sterilizing and wrapping instruments, sanitizing operating areas, verifying shelf life of medications, maintaining equipment and complying with legal regulations

Requirements

Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure in Washington
