Job summary

Small Door Inc. is seeking a licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our care-forward clinics in New York. You’ll triage, record vitals, assist veterinarians, and perform routine nursing tasks in a fast-paced, AAHA-accredited environment.

Weekend availability is required, and you’ll work with a supportive team dedicated to Fear Free, patient care, and owner communication. You will contribute to in-house labs, radiography, blood draws, catheter placements, and medication preparation, while

Qualifications

• 1+ years of LVT experience in a GP setting.
• Weekend availability (Saturday or Sunday).
• Comfortable with computers and online tools.
• Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
• Thoughtful and fearless team player in a fast-paced environment.
• Skilled at communicating with clients and passionate about pets.

Responsibilities

• Triaging patients.
• Recognize medical emergencies and illnesses.
• Assessing patients and recording vitals.
• Assisting doctors with diagnostics and treatments.
• Completing treatments as instructed by the doctor.
• Basic husbandry and nursing care.
• Monitor changes in patients and provide compassionate care.
• Taking blood.
• Placing catheters.
• Assisting in radiography capture.
• Preparing samples for outside reference labs.
• Running in-house labs.
• Preparing medications.
• Administering medications.
• Maintaining a hospitable environment.
