Job summary

Grass Lake Animal Hospital in Grass Lake, Michigan is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our hands-on team. You’ll assist veterinarians, take vitals, prepare exam rooms, and help with surgeries while delivering compassionate care to pets and their families.

We value experience in a veterinary setting, a MI LVT license, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. Competitive pay starts around $24/hour with benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in Animal Care or related field is a plus.
• Licensed in the state of MI (LVT) and in good standing with the board.
• Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is a must.
• Physical ability to lift and handle animals of varying sizes.
• Not squeamish and able to stay calm during stressful moments.
• Strong teamwork and compassion for animals and owners.

Responsibilities

• Cuddle stressed-out critters and provide TLC to pets and clients.
• Keep exam rooms clean and stocked for smooth visits.
• Take vitals and assist during exams and procedures.
• Assist doctors with surgeries and administer medications as directed.
• Collect and process laboratory samples (blood, urine, feces).
• Handle admin tasks: scheduling, phones, and client education.
