Grass Lake Animal Hospital in Grass Lake, MI is hiring a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or experienced Veterinary Assistant for full-time work. You will join veterinarians and a caring team to monitor vitals, assist in exams and surgeries, dispense medications, and manage client education in a supportive clinic environment.

Responsibilities

• Cuddle stressed-out critters and ease anxious patients
• Keep exam rooms clean and stocked, assist during exams and procedures
• Take vitals and assist Doctors with surgeries and procedures
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
• Collect and process laboratory samples (blood, urine, feces)
• Handle scheduling and phone inquiries
• Educate pet parents without overusing Latin
• Provide TLC to both animals and clients

Grass lakes Animal Hospital Grass lake, Michigan Position: Licensed Veterinary Technician – Help Us Help Paws! Location: Grass Lake, Michigan Employment Type: Full-Time | Occasional Pet Wrangler Salary: starting at $24.00 for LVT Sing-on Bonus: Eligibility for up to $1000 based on licensure and experience.

About the Role: We’re on the hunt for a Licensed Veterinary Technician or an Experienced Veterinary Assistant who doesn’t mind a little fur on their scrubs and knows the difference between a pit bull and a porcupine (important). You’ll work alongside veterinarians and fellow animal lovers to:

• Cuddle stressed-out critters (yes, it’s a job requirement)
• Keep exam rooms clean and stocked—because no one wants to search for the thermometer after the patient arrives
• Take vitals and assist during exams and procedures
• Assist Doctors with surgeries
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
• Collect and process laboratory samples such as blood, urine, and feces
• Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and answering phones
• Educate pet parents without using too much Latin
• Provide TLC to both four-legged and two-legged clients

Who You Are:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in Animal Care or related field is a plus.
• Licensed in the state of MI and in good standing with the board for all LVTs
• Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is a must.
• Physical ability to lift and handle animals of varying sizes
• You’re not squeamish (because things will ooze)
• You know how to keep your cool during a Chihuahua tantrum
• You’re a team player with a strong stomach and a soft heart
• Bonus points if you can do all this while holding a cup of coffee
