Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to provide relief support across our Washington hospitals. This part-time role offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to work with a variety of teams and cases in Lynnwood and other Washington locations.

You’ll gain exposure to Emergency and Specialty services, mentor teammates, and help maintain patient records while supporting veterinarians in anesthesia and surgical procedures.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) required.
• Emergency and specialty experience preferred.
• Overnight availability possible.
• Schedule flexibility required.
• Availability for 3-5 shifts per week (8-12 hour shifts).
• Experience training/mentorship is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
• Provide training and mentorship to team members.
• Assist in maintaining medical records including health histories.
• Prepare patients for discharge, gather medications, and relay discharge instructions to pet parents.
• Support and perform general anesthesia and assist in surgery and anesthesia procedures.
• Use a fear-free approach to handling patients and follow safety protocols.
• Understand and complete diagnostics and treatments ordered by attending clinician.
• Work collaboratively to keep treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs clean and organized.

Qualifications

• LVT-Licensed Veterinary Technician-REQUIRED
• Emergency and Specialty Experience in addition to General Practice
• Possible overnight availability
• Reliable transportation
• Schedule flexibility
• Availability for 3-5 shifts per week—shifts range from 8-12 hours
• Prior experience with training and mentorship

Role Responsibilities—department/hospital Dependent

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
• Provide training and mentorship to team members
• Assist in maintaining relevant, accurate, and comprehensive medical records including accurate and relevant health history.
• Readies patients for discharge, gathers medications, ensures relevant paperwork is prepared and effectively communicates discharge instructions to pet parents.
• Support and perform general anesthesia and assist in surgery and anesthetic/sedation procedures
• Use a fear free approach to handling patients in keeping with hospital safety protocols and core values.
• Understands and completes in-patient and out-patient diagnostic tests and treatments requested by attending clinician.
• Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean and organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
• Ability to work collaboratively and support fellow team members.

Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience--$38-41/hr. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
