Job summary

Thrive Pet Healthcare is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) for relief across Washington hospitals, with a part-time schedule. The role offers 8–12 hour shifts and 3–5 shifts per week, across multiple Thrive locations including Lynnwood.

Qualifications

• LVT license required.
• Emergency and specialty experience in addition to general practice.
• Overnight availability may be required.
• Reliable transportation and schedule flexibility.
• Available for 3–5 shifts per week (8–12 hours).
• Experience with training and mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
• Provide training and mentorship to team members.
• Maintain accurate medical records including health history.
• Prepare patients for discharge, gather medications, and communicate discharge instructions.
• Support and perform anesthesia and assist in surgery and sedation.
• Use fear-free handling and maintain hospital safety protocols.
• Perform in-patient and out-patient diagnostic tests and treatments as requested.
• Use safe restraining techniques and keep treatment areas clean and organized.
• Collaborate with team members.

Qualifications:

LVT-Licensed Veterinary Technician-REQUIRED

Role Responsibilities—department/hospital dependent:

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
• Provide training and mentorship to team members
• Assist in maintaining relevant, accurate, and comprehensive medical records including accurate and relevant health history.
• Readies patients for discharge, gathers medications, ensures relevant paperwork is prepared and effectively communicates discharge instructions to pet parents.
• Support and perform general anesthesia and assist in surgery and anesthetic/sedation procedures
• Use a fear free approach to handling patients in keeping with hospital safety protocols and core values.
• Understands and completes in-patient and out-patient diagnostic tests and treatments requested by attending clinician.
• Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean and organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
• Ability to work collaboratively and support fellow team members.

Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience--$38-41/hr.The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
