Thrive Pet Healthcare seeks an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to provide relief support across our Washington hospitals. Work across multiple locations, with 3–5 shifts per week, each 8 to 12 hours, offering schedule flexibility and exposure to diverse cases and specialties.

You'll mentor and train team members, assist veterinarians, maintain medical records, and participate in anesthesia and surgical procedures.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) is REQUIRED.
  • Emergency and Specialty experience in addition to General Practice.
  • Possible overnight availability.
  • Reliable transportation and schedule flexibility.
  • Availability for 3-5 shifts per week—shifts range from 8-12 hours.
  • Prior experience with training and mentorship.

Responsibilities

  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, educate clients.
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members.
  • Assist in maintaining medical records and health history.
  • Prepare patients for discharge and communicate discharge instructions to pet parents.
  • Assist in general anesthesia and surgery with safety protocols.
  • Use a fear-free handling approach and maintain clean, organized areas.
  • Collaborate with team across departments.

Qualifications:

Role Responsibilities—department/hospital dependent:
  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members
  • Assist in maintaining relevant, accurate, and comprehensive medical records including accurate and relevant health history.
  • Readies patients for discharge, gathers medications, ensures relevant paperwork is prepared and effectively communicates discharge instructions to pet parents.
  • Support and perform general anesthesia and assist in surgery and anesthetic/sedation procedures
  • Use a fear free approach to handling patients in keeping with hospital safety protocols and core values.
  • Understands and completes in-patient and out-patient diagnostic tests and treatments requested by attending clinician.
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean and organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and support fellow team members.

Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience--$38-41/hr.The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
