Qualifications

• Active VT license required; 1+ year experience preferred but not required.
• Punctual and reliable with ability to work some weekend shifts.
• Excellent client communication and medical record management skills.
• Knowledge of preventative care and hospital operations.
• Safe and low-stress animal restraint techniques.
• Proficiency in sample collection (blood, urine, fecal, skin).
• Experience in radiographic positioning; dental radiography a plus.
• Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring.
• Commitment to ethics and continuous learning.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with animal-related hazards.

Responsibilities

• Triage incoming patients and prioritize care.
• Restrain and handle animals safely during examinations and procedures.
• Collect and analyze laboratory samples (blood, urine, tissue).
• Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, such as X-rays and ultrasounds.
• Provide nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases with varying stability.
• Administer medications as prescribed by veterinarians.
• Communicate treatment plans to pet owners, ensuring understanding of care instructions.
• Prepare animals and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Assist in anesthetic management during surgeries.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Collaborate with the veterinary team to ensure optimal patient care.
• Stay updated on latest veterinary techniques and best practices.
