Position: Licensed Veterinary Technician (Part Time) – Broadway Animal Hospital

PetVet Care Centers’ Broadway Animal Hospital is seeking a licensed Veterinary Technician to support hospital operations by providing quality veterinary care and exceptional service to pets and clients.

Position Overview

As a Veterinary Technician you will: provide patient care by determining animal requirements, conducting examinations and diagnostic procedures, assisting during surgery and operations, providing nursing care, feeding and caring for patients, maintaining medical supplies and equipment, overseeing triage and discharging patients, and maintaining patient medical records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct examinations, interviews and laboratory tests to determine animal requirements.
  • Take vital signs, collect samples, administer medications, drugs, and vaccines, and bandage wounds.
  • Support examinations and surgeries by assembling supplies, restraining patients, and assisting veterinarians.
  • Apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease, pharmacology, and equipment usage in patient care.
  • Obtain and verify medications.
  • Maintain cleanliness of patient areas and observe for disease signs.
  • Fill prescriptions and administer medications, ensuring proper documentation and controlled‑drug security.
  • Keep the facility safe and sanitary through sterilization, disinfection, and compliance with regulations.
  • Document patients’ conditions, reactions, and changes accurately in the database.
  • Communicate patient status to pet owners as directed.
  • Maintain equipment, troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, and request repairs.
  • Manage inventory, place orders, and verify receipts.
  • Continuously update job knowledge via education and professional journals.
  • Release pets to owners clean and groomed as directed.
  • Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Manager or practice.

Qualifications (Required)

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two or more years of experience with veterinary appointments, surgeries, and nursing care for hospitalized and critical patients.
  • Equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience may be considered.

Schedule: Days and hours vary Monday‑Friday, 8 AM – 6 PM.

Pay Range: $24.98 – $30.53 USD.
