Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Buffalo, NY is seeking a licensed Veterinary Technician to join our overnight emergency team. You will triage, obtain history, and support critical care in a fast-paced environment.

The role offers hourly pay from $23.50 to $45.00 plus competitive shift differentials, with additional compensation for VTS credentialed candidates and a four-hour minimum differential. We value mentorship and advanced medicine expertise.

Responsibilities

• Triage and obtain patient history
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR
• Place IVCs and advanced catheters such as jugular lines, central lines or PICC lines
• Monitor and care for ventilator cases
• Collaborate with technicians and assistants to provide advanced medicine
• Mentor and train fellow associates
• Reunite patients with their pet parents after care
• Perform other relevant roles/responsibilities

Are you a skilled and compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician looking to take the next step in your career? BluePearl Pet Hospital in Buffalo, NY is seeking a dedicated professional to join our thriving, collaborative overnight emergency team.

Pay:

$23.50 - $45.00 / hour + competitive shift differentials

This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience.

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.

• Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = +$3.50/hr. Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = +$3.50/hr. Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = +$5.00/hr. Shift Differential

As a Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Triage and obtain patient history
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Place IVC's and advanced catheters like jugular catheters, central lines or PICC lines.
• Monitor and care for ventilator cases
• Work alongside other skilled technicians and assistants in providing excellent, advanced medicine to your patients.
• Have a passion for helping mentor and and train fellow associates.
• Nurse critically ill patients back to health and reunite them with their pet parents.
• Perform other relevant roles/responsibilities.

Our Continuing Education Plan includes $500/year reimbursement for CVT and $750/year for VTS. The Continuing Education allowance can roll over up to $1,500 for CVT and VTS associates. Non-Credentialed, full-time Paraprofessionals are eligible for an annual CE stipend of $150. Full-time CVT associates also receive 8 hours of CE paid hours each year. Full-time VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid each year. Paid CE hours can be carried over year to year up to a maximum of 24 hours. Newly hired associates will receive a pro-rated amount of any CE benefit for which they are eligible.
