Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Framingham, MA is seeking an experienced Overnight Emergency Veterinary Technician to join our brand new facility. You will staff 3x12 hour overnight shifts with a sign-on bonus for qualified applicants.

The role offers competitive pay from $24.25 to $49.00 per hour plus shift differentials and opportunities for credential-based compensation. VTS-qualified staff receive added compensation; continued education benefits and a strong team culture are highlighted.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.
• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.
• Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.
• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.
• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
• Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
• Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.
• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking a skilled & compassionate veterinary technician to join our Overnight Emergency team. Come join our brand new hospital in Framingham, MA!

• This position is offering a sign-on bonus for qualified applicants

Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts

Pay: $24.25 - $49.00 / hour + competitive shift differentials

This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience.

We Also Offer Competitive Shift Differentials For Eligible Hours Worked For Nights And Weekends. Shift Differentials Are Based On a 4-hour Minimum. For Example

• Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = +$4.00 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = +$4.00 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = +$5.50 Shift Differential

As An Emergency Veterinary Technician, You Will

Our Continuing Education Plan includes $500/year reimbursement for CVT and $750/year for VTS. The Continuing Education allowance can roll over up to $1,500 for CVT and VTS associates. Non-Credentialed, full-time Paraprofessionals are eligible for an annual CE stipend of $150. Full-time CVT associates also receive 8 hours of CE paid hours each year. Full-time VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid each year. Paid CE hours can be carried over year to year up to a maximum of 24 hours. Newly hired associates will receive a pro-rated amount of any CE benefit for which they are eligible.
