Small Door is seeking a licensed veterinary technician to join our team in New York. You will triage and assess patients, recognize emergencies, document vitals, and support doctors with diagnostics and treatments.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in a general practice setting.
• Availability to work weekends (Saturday or Sunday).
• Comfortable with computers and online tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Collaborative team player with a can-do attitude.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication with clients and caretakers.
• Passion for pets and their well-being.

Responsabilités

• Triaging patients and recognizing medical emergencies.

What you’ll do

• Triaging

• Knowledge and ability to recognize medical emergencies and illnesses

• Assessing patients

• Recording vitals and assisting doctors with diagnostics

• Completing treatments as instructed by the doctor

• Basic husbandry and nursing care

• Monitoring changes in patients and providing compassionate care

• Taking blood

• Placing catheters

• Assisting in and facilitating radiography capture

• Preparing samples for outside reference labs

• Running in-house labs

• Preparing medications

• Administering medications

• Additional responsibilities to maintain a hospitable environment

Who you are

• 1+ years of experience as a LVT in a GP setting

• Availability to work weekends (Saturday or Sunday)

• Comfortable with computers and online tools

• Strong enough to lift 50 lbs

• A thoughtful and fearless team player

• A go-getter who thrives in a fast-paced environment

• Skilled at communicating with clients
