BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an exceptional Neurology Veterinary Technician for our Sandy Springs, GA location!

We are proactive in supporting our technician team to advance their careers, with many specialized technicians in areas such as Anesthesia, Internal Medicine, and Emergency/Critical Care. Applicants should have a strong knowledge base, motivation to learn, and ambition to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Sign-on bonus: Available for qualified CVT, LVT, RVT, LVMT, VTS, and experienced uncredentialed technicians.

Pay: $21 - $42 per hour (starting point, dependent on experience and career progression through our CareerTrax leveling system).

Schedule: Sunday-Wednesday, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm, with on-call and holiday shifts.

Responsibilities of a Neurology Veterinary Technician:

1. Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
2. Calculate all medical math, including advanced calculations and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc.).
3. Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia.
4. Prepare for MRI and CT procedures.
5. Discharge neuro patients, including providing basic client education such as manual bladder expression, sling walking, and range of motion exercises. Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards.
6. Perform callbacks and medication refills.
7. Gather patient histories, communicate findings to clinicians, and educate clients.
8. Perform physical exams, including checking heart rate, pulse, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate, and effort.
9. Understand normal vital parameters.
10. Handle IVC placement and venipuncture comfortably.
11. Operate and troubleshoot all brands of intravenous fluid pumps.
12. Restrain patients during consultations and diagnostics.
