Our Greenville practice in South Carolina is looking for a Licensed Veterinary Technician to play an important role in our clinic. Our experienced doctors and staff perform a vast array of procedures, and we are looking for someone interested in this exciting, growth-oriented opportunity!

Essential Functions of the Licensed Veterinary Technician

1. Provide quality, compassionate, best-in-class care for our patients, while also maximizing clinic productivity.
2. Partner with veterinarian management on team accountability, resolution, and assist with follow-through while maintaining effective employee-management communication.
3. Assist veterinarians with examinations and properly handle animals before, during, and after procedures.
4. Perform diagnostic imaging such as x-rays, ultrasound, and CT scans.
5. Clean, sterilize, and prepare kennels, exam rooms, and equipment.
6. Maintain and update medical charts, administer medications and treatments, and care for animals during their visit.
7. Communicate basic diagnoses (e.g., ear infections, skin infections, parasites) to pet parents.
8. Stay current with industry developments and attend continuing education as required.
9. Perform additional functions such as dental prophylaxis, placing IVCs, venipuncture, and assisting with surgeries.

Qualifications

1. Minimum 2 years of experience in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting.
2. Current LVT license in good standing.
3. Knowledge of lab procedures, medical records, and SOAP notes.
4. Ability to read fecal floats, direct fecal smears, and perform ear/skin cytology.
5. Comfortable with in-house hematology and chemistry equipment and reference labs.
6. Knowledge of canine/feline vaccines and vital signs.
7. Skilled in phlebotomy (cephalic, saphenous, jugular veins) and injections (SQ, IM, IV).
8. Experience with dental prophylaxis and anesthesia monitoring.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
11. Physical ability to handle animals, work in loud environments, lift up to 50 lbs, and remain in stationary or mobile positions for extended periods.
