Who We Are

We are a large and growing emergency and specialty hospital located in Portland, Maine. Our facility is home to board-certified experts in Surgery, Emergency & Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology, Oncology, Cardiology, and Dermatology. At PVESC, you’ll work with a multidisciplinary team passionate about continuous learning and high standards of care, with ample opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities
  • Provide triage and stabilize incoming patients
  • Administer IV, IM, SQ, and PO medications
  • Assist with diagnostics such as radiographs, bloodwork, and ECGs
  • Monitor patients in ICU or undergoing treatments/procedures
  • Manage fluid therapy and anesthesia monitoring as needed
  • Communicate effectively with doctors, teammates, and clients
  • Maintain detailed medical records and treatment sheets
  • Support patient admissions, discharges, and client education
  • Assist in emergency procedures and critical care support
Schedule

This is a full-time position.

  • Saturday/Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM (final schedule to be discussed during interview)
  • Some holidays required
Compensation

Starting at $28/hr, commensurate with experience.

Requirements
  • Licensed or certified Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, RVT)
  • Previous emergency or critical care experience preferred, but not required
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Calm, confident presence in high-pressure situations
  • Desire to learn, collaborate, and contribute to our mission
