Licensed Veterinary Technician - Emergency

Location: Snohomish, WA

Shift: Full-time overnight shift, Thursday–Saturday 7 pm–8 am. Flexibility for 4–10 hour shifts.

About the Hospital

Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner, is a multi‑species, multi‑department hospital offering small animal general practice, 24‑hour small animal emergency, large animal field service, equine referral with boarded specialists in surgery and internal medicine, and an in‑house laboratory. The hospital is AAHA accredited and provides digital radiography, ultrasound, MRI, multiple surgical suites, telemetry, and comprehensive ICU facilities.

Role Responsibilities
  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
  • Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with state Veterinary Practice Act.
  • Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and treatments.
  • Maintain relevant, comprehensive medical records with practice systems.
  • Obtain relevant health history from clients and maintain medical charts.
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and maintain clean, sterile examination rooms, labs and treatment areas.
  • Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
Experience & Skills Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED (required).
  • Active or pending licensed veterinary technician (LVT) license in Washington state.
  • Two years of continuous veterinary technician/assistant experience with direct animal/patient care.
  • A desire to practice empathetic, gold‑standard medicine.
  • Team‑oriented with ability to collaborate and support one another.
