Job summary

Petcare Hospital and Wellness Center, a Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner, is hiring a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician in Mill Creek, WA. We provide compassionate, evidence-based care for dogs and cats across Mill Creek, Lynnwood, Bothell, Snohomish, and Everett.

Qualifications

• Current Washington State Veterinary Technician license.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Able to enter medical notes and maintain medical records; type 45 wpm.
• Able to lift 40 lbs unassisted.
• Strong desire to practice empathetic, gold standard medicine.
• Positive, kind and trustworthy communication to patients, team members and clients.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients during outpatient appointments.
• With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintainpositive patient flow.
• Obtain pertinent health history and information from clients andmaintainmedical charts.
• Assistinmaintainingrelevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
• Perform anesthesia and sedation induction and monitoring, dentistry including dental radiographs and charting, obtain diagnostic radiographs, and provide nursing care as instructed by the DVM to hospitalized patients.
• Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, surgical suite, exam rooms, and labs.
• Prepare patients, medications and equipment for examinations, surgery, dentistry and sedated procedures.
• Collect and prepare patient lab samples for in-house and reference lab diagnostic screening.
• Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membershipoptions, medications, andadditionaltreatments.
• Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.

As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, you’llplayan important rolein pets’lives byprovidingend-to-end care for our precious patients. Experience & Skills Requirements:

• Able to enter medical notes and maintain medical records; can type 45 wpm minimally.
• Able to lift 40lbs unassisted.

Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience with an hourly pay rate of $31-35 / hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
